Shops, crafts and provisions

Be a temporary local by buying from local communities

In remote parts of Scotland you may well find the local shop is community run and is a lifeline service for less mobile locals.

Your spend will be very much appreciated and you will often find local produce and crafts you wouldn’t necessarily find in a supermarket.

More and more crafters and artists across Scotland are collaborating within their local communities to provide a shared space to sell their individual products. And, buying local crafts can often keep local traditions alive.

You’ll also find helpful locals happy to answer any questions you may have.
